Now this is in Celsius, so I don't know what they say in the us they probably say freezing temperatures in the US but sometimes in Canada you'll hear sub zero or you'll hear freezing temperatures or below freezing.

It doesn't actually need to be below zero for you to say it's freezing outside because it's all relative.

At this time of the year, a normal daytime temperature is about 15 degrees Celsius; if it was four degrees Celsius today, I could go outside and say, "Oh, it's freezing out here," even though it's not below zero, it's still an accurate way to describe the temperature.
